Three companies, one trade at the root
SB Electrical Group grew out of electrical contracting. Mister Electrics handles domestic and commercial electrical work across Greater Manchester and Cheshire; The Emergency Electricians runs the group's 24/7 callout operation. Praetor applies the same trade discipline to fire detection, emergency lighting and fire safety compliance.
That lineage matters more in fire than almost anywhere else. A fire alarm is an electrical installation with a life safety job: its cabling, segregation, interfaces and fault behaviour are electrical engineering questions. Firms that only sell fire contracts subcontract that part. We are that part.
It also means the awkward jobs are easy for us. Alarm faults that turn out to be wiring faults. Emergency lighting remedials on live circuits. An interface to a shutter that the last contractor left on a drawing but never wired in. One firm, one visit, done.

How we work
Compliance-led, never fear-led
We will tell you what the law and the standards require, what they do not, and the difference.
Fire safety attracts scare-selling because fear closes deals. We do not do it. If your premises needs an L4 system, we will not quote an L1. If your extinguisher estate is oversized, we will say so and quote for less. Clients notice, and they stay.
Built for contracts, not one-off jobs
Our business model is the long maintenance relationship, which changes the incentives on every visit.
A contractor who sees your building twice a year for a decade profits from the system being reliable, documented and false-alarm free. Everything about how we work, the certificate pack, the fault tracking, the fixed remedial pricing, follows from that.
Local, and staying that way
Greater Manchester and the North West is the patch. Engineers live here; response times reflect it.
